Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Create, implement, administer and enforce policies, procedures and regulations required for the Institution to operate in accordance with the applicable legislation and regulations.
• Draft and review all types of legal documents for the Institution including but not limited to MOUs, contracts, PoAs, policies to preserve legal interests of the Institution, and ensure compliance with the applicable domestic and international laws, rules and regulations.
• Provide legal support to the departments of the Institution on general matters including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, human resources and governance.
• Provide accurate, timely and proactive expert legal advice and opinion to the Board, Executive Director and departments of the Institution, to minimize legal risks / implications and aid in decision making.
• Keep up to date with relevant laws and regulations and monitor compliance with legislation, regulations and internal policies.
• Advise departments on current risk and compliance, highlight and escalate areas of concern and contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the Institution and collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance.
• Register and protect the Institution’s intellectual property rights including its trademarks and provide advice on IP related issues.
• Act as a liaison with government bodies and handle any complaints made against the Institution.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.


• At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role ideally within non-for-profit sector
• Bachelor’s degree in law
• Strong legal experience in corporate and commercial matters
• Excellent problem solving, analytical and business intelligence skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
• Strong organisation skills and ability to multitask and deliver on deadlines
• IT Literate – MS Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Strong attention to details
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
