Job description / Role

As a Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic legal advice to the Company and manage all commercial and corporate requirements for the Company's daily operations

Description

* Provide support to the operations in the UAE, Qatar and KSA and if required, occasionally travel to Qatar and Saudi.
* Produce, review, negotiate and close out over 600+ commercial contracts per year to ensure that suitable and approved contacts are in place for each of the units in which the company operates.
* Actively work with the sales team in reviewing, advising, and negotiating new commercial contracts and responses to tenders.
* Work with supply chain in reviewing, advising, negotiating, and closing out supplier contacts.
* Ability to attend to client/supplier meeting with internal clients at all stages of the contract cycle and to establish working relationships with lawyers at clients' establishments.
* Ability to advise the HR department on employment law, immigration/visa, ethical and related matters.
* Advise and manage on legal issues stemming from operations including assisting in writing correspondence to clients.
* Identify, research, understand and respond to applicable regulations and laws across all jurisdictions of operation (including but not limited to employment laws, company laws, data protection laws and tax laws) (working with local legal counsel where required and budget permits).
* Ensuring compliance of existing legal entities' annual licensing, local audit, and reporting requirements
* Manage matters relating to intellectual property.
* Ensure awareness of data protection requirements and advise on appropriate systems.

Requirements

* At least 5 years experience in corporate/commercial contracts
* Strong focus on contract negotiation;
* Common law qualified is a plus
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
* Be comfortable handling large workload, working under time pressure, managing multiple issues at once.
