Legal Counsel

Job description / Role

We are recruiting a Legal Counsel for a global property consultancy with a strong GCC footprint. The role will provide legal support across commercial contracting, corporate governance, compliance, and dispute matters, helping stakeholders manage risk while enabling business delivery across the region.

Key Responsibilities
1. Provide contractual and commercial risk assessments for RFPs and support pre-tendering activity.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including FIDIC-based contracts where required.
3. Draft/review internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
4. Advise on corporate governance, internal processes, and company compliance frameworks.
5. Track regulatory updates and support stakeholders with gap analysis and practical implementation guidance.
6. Support multiple functions (e.g., HR, finance, tax, operations) with pragmatic legal guidance.
7. Support dispute strategy and resolution efforts, including coordination with external counsel when needed.
8. Assist with entity matters such as license issuance/renewals and governance documentation.
9. Improve contracting efficiency via template development and streamlining contracting processes.

1. Law degree (LLB or equivalent); additional qualifications advantageous
2. Commonwealth-qualified lawyer preferred (e.g., UK / Australia / New Zealand-qualified).
3. Strong English drafting and communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
4. 2–3+ years’ GCC-based legal experience (UAE experience essential; KSA exposure strongly preferred).
5. Contracting experience is essential; FIDIC exposure is highly desirable.
6. Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work under pressure.

Salary:
AED 45,000 to 55,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
