Legal Counsel - Native Russian Speaker

Job description / Role

As Legal Counsel you will provide legal support to our client for its operations in the UAE a d internationally. You will work closely with the Europe-based legal team as well as counter parties across the globe.

Our client is a full service commodities trading firm that provides marketing, logistics and financing services, to clients across the globe.

Description

* drafting, reviewing and legal analysis of commercial contracts for the purchase of coal and related energy commodities (working languages Russian and English);
* drafting auxiliary and supporting documents (additional agreement, amendments, appendixes) to the principal commercial contracts;
* legal support during oral negotiations and discussions
* drafting, reviewing and legal analysis of commercial contracts for the sale of coal and related energy commodity, shipping contracts (terms), insurance contracts, logistics contracts, BL, performance bonds, promissory notes, payment guarantees;
* drafting auxiliary and supporting documents (additional agreement, amendments, appendixes) to the principal commercial contracts;
* advising trading department on various legal aspects of trading activity: ad hoc advising, project participation, complex disputes resolution, strategic thinking and decision taking

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in law preferably from Russian University. International (Business) Law, Commercial or Maritime Law LL.M as well as related postgraduate courses is a plus;
* Profound knowledge and hands-on experience in English law, Continental law and case practice;
* 5 and more years PQE gained with a leading international law firms or high-profile trading houses, ship owning companies, insurance companies, P&I clubs;
* Fluent Russian and English languages. Ability to prepare written memorandum in Russian and English.
* Ability to travel abroad;
* Proficiency in international legal data research systems: WestLaw, LexisNexis, Informa, Refinitiv.
