Legal Secretary

Job description / Role

- Working on legal documents (English, Arabic and bilingual).
- Legal Translation of documents (English to Arabic and vice-versa).
- Providing secretarial support to the head of the department.
- Scheduling meetings for the Legal Department.
- Corresponding on behalf of the head of the department.
- Scanning Arabic + English newspapers for latest legal topics and developments related to law.
- Conducting Internet searches to obtain critical and reliable information quickly.
- Assisting the head of the department in drafting and implementing the internal policies in accordance with U.A.E. laws.
- Assisting the Head of the Legal Department and others in preparing legal contracts.

Requirements

- Bilingual – Job involves handling correspondence in English and Arabic and also translation from English into Arabic and vice versa.
- Basic legal translation skills (Arabic to English and English to Arabic).
- Speed, accuracy and eye for detail from a legal point of view.
- Understanding of legal terms and designations.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Database and records management skills.
- Ability to gather data, compiles information, and prepare reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
