Job description / Role
• Will work under the guidance of a librarian to process and catalogue a substantial book collection.
• Responsible for acquiring, organising, managing and distributing library resources, and ensuring that library provision meets the needs of all its users.
• Work involves providing library services, Duties include reference work, materials review and programming.

• This position is also invested with making beginning level library technical decisions. The work requires that the employee have good knowledge, skill, and ability in the basic phase.
• Develop a virtual library and facilitate selective dissemination of Internet based information.
• Developing and organizing new collections to expand and improve educational and research facilities
• This will include both physical processing (shelving items and in some cases scanning them for digitization) and metadata creation in the collection management system.
• Some familiarity with library and cataloguing best practices is preferred, but attention to detail and the ability to handle delicate and sensitive materials are paramount.
• Selecting, developing, cataloguing and classifying library resources
Requirements
• Degree in Library/Information Studies or first degree with postgraduate library qualification
• Degree in English Literature/English Study/History/Archeology/Art etc.
• 3-5 years’ experience in the same field is a must.
• Basic IT qualification.
• Presentation and verbal communication skills
