A Solution Expert level LCM has an in-depth understanding of SAP licensing models, policies and procedures and Global License Audit and Compliance Service Catalog including; Basic and Enhanced Audit, Supplementary Audit Services, License Advisory, Deal Support, License Compliance Interviews and license management Initiatives. They are able to understand and to articulate the relative features, business impact and value of these services relative to specific customer situations. The Solution Expert level LCM takes ownership of key activities during the planning, execution and resolution of license compliance activities coordinating other GLAC functions and liaising with related SAP departments including sales, commercial and legal. Responsible for balancing protection of SAP IP and revenue recovery in the best interests of SAP and the long-term customer relationship they represent Global license Audit and Compliance function to internal and external stakeholders. They are responsible for planning their own time and activities sufficient to meet expectations of internal customers for volume and quality of activity and revenue contribution. In addition, the LCM may provide focused, senior, strategic support to sales and the VAT during the relevant phases of the lifecycle, extending the solution expertise of the team, where needed.

Area 1: Planning - Identification, development, and execution of license compliance strategies and programs; act as key expert in SAP's license model, policy and processes and audit and compliance portfolio. Serve as a primary conduit between customers, Sales and other GLAC functions to oversee, influence and track the execution of GLAC service portfolio. Interact with other members of GLAC and regional management to ensure a consistent approach is followed and opportunities for sharing best practice are identified and taken advantage of.

Area 2: Execution - Lead and execute the annual GTM plans for Global License Audit and Compliance in a defined territory. Contribute to and validate high-quality business plans which clearly articulate service volumes, license management initiative focus areas etc. Support enablement of sales and partners on License Compliance topics. Personally, lead engagements with customer senior executives and be perceived as a subject matter expert. Maintain a post audit relationship with the account as it relates to ongoing compliance management and provide License Advisory Services to support the customers understanding of their license entitlement and actual use with the objective of preventing out of compliance situations.

Tasks:

The key differences between this and more junior roles is the high level of autonomy expected in defining the audit plan and strategic compliance priorities and acting and as a primary point of contact for GLAC in a region or territory. This involves dealing with senior decision makers at partners, customer and within SAP. Individuals performing at this level will have high degrees of authority to represent the public fac of GLAC, to interpret and act on corporate guidelines whilst making judgements that balance sometimes competing objectives in the best interests of SAP's long-term goals.

Requirements

Experience:

Professional experience with large, multi-national software/IT organizations and with a demonstrated expertise of license audit and compliance. SAP product experience and/or 8-15 years prior relevant solutions/LoB experience. Viewed as a role model capable of leveraging an extensive network on behalf of SAP resulting in customer compliance and revenue recovery. Proven track record of dealing with senir executives in challenging and sometimes stressful circumstances. Highly logical and analytical thinker with the ability to communicate complex information is a succinct and engaging manner. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English, essential plus local language relevant to territory. Fluency in the language of other local markets desirable.

Education

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required, MBA or equivalent degree required from accredited university preferred.
