Linux Administrator

Job description / Role

• Managing Linux server infrastructure
• Handling tickets generated by SCOM handled via HPSM.
• Handling Incident tickets related with services, storage, replication, and cluster heart beat alert failure, Disc space and all types of critical alerts.
• Monitoring backup on all Linux is successful, if fails coordinate with backup team and troubleshooting this issue.
• Patching update as part of EVM scan
• ODA patching(firmware, grid, database)
• Managing OS boot disk mirroring
• Managing user administration and pseudo accounts
• Security hardening on Linux servers
• Support ESX Severs and VM’s running on them in Data Centers
• Support VMware Virtual Center 4.0 and later Servers.
• Patch Deployment on all the ESX Servers and Virtual Center servers.
• Troubleshoot alerts from monitoring system for system error conditions (system down, disk full, CPU busy, memory full etc.)
• Troubleshooting Performance issues.
• Servicing tickets submitted by developers/users
• Communicating emergency notifications.

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Application, Electronics/Computer Engineer or related field.
• Minimum 8-10 year of experience in Linux & VMware administration
• Good knowledge of overall infrastructure technical knowledge & troubleshooting methodologies
• RHCE, VCP & VCAP certified.
• Strong Trouble shooting skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
