Employment: Full Time

Job Description:
To provide a range of specialized support functions and/or lead a team performing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.

Key Accountabilities:
• Responsible for day-to-day activities following standard processes and contributing with cost-effective and efficient decision making.
• Review existing processes and procedures for compliance to ISO and best practices and adopt a culture of continuous improvement at all operational levels
• Ensure the customer-interfacing team is skilled and trained and in compliance with stated SOP’s.
• Manage freight forwarders contracting activities including performance monitoring and measurement, supported by analysis and recommendations.
• Ensure timely customs clearance with NIL demurrage & storage
• Establish a good network of reliable local transporters
• Collect and analyse data through research and networking with colleagues to recommend actions to the supervisor to improve the performance of local logistics operations especially last mile deliveries.
• Guide support staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with analysis and queries.
• Support the capacity building of the staff and partners for efficient and effective delivery.
• Timely placement of orders to Principals/Suppliers
• Ability to implement operational warehouse procedures and normative guidance in order to manage multiple warehouses, handle inventory effectively through corporate systems, and ensure loss mitigation. Attend to insurance related claims and provide for timely closure of claims
• Train and develop the staff members with a view to maintain continuity in business
• Possess In-depth knowledge in the field of customs and other document process related to the local/global logistics operation.
• Produce comprehensive reports related to Logistic operation as required by the Management
• Coordinate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support logistics operations management
• Understand and communicate the Strategic Objectives of the management
• Look for ways to strengthen people's skills: Identifies skill development opportunities such as training modules or on-the-job experiences for self, colleagues and direct reports.
• Encourage innovation & creative solutions: Identifies opportunities to be creative in own work and to help team be more innovative and accurate in their respective tasks and areas of work.

Requirements

Education:
• Graduate preferably in Supply Chain Management and Logistics

Computer skills:
• MS-Office, Experience with ERP, WMS preferred

Experience:
• 5-8 years of experience in a large logistics and warehousing setup with minimum 3-4 years in UAE

Desired Experiences For Entry Into The Role
• Experience in managing multimodal transport contracts.
• Experience coordinating with transportation providers and third parties.
• Experience leading a team of multicultural Staff.
• Experience assisting in project management.
• Experience in preparing and managing budgets.
