Maintenance Associate - Electrical

Job description / Role

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for identifying repair and/or replacement needs as well as installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems and equipment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Advises management on hazardous equipment or situations.
- Prepares sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Uses a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
- Inspects electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
- Takes appropriate action and/or complying with health and building regulations.
- Installs electrical system components (e.g. lighting, alarms, electrical panels, switches, circuits, scoreboards….) for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded electrical capabilities.
- Provides preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
- Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Maintains a disaster recovery plan and ensure alternative plans are in place.
- Ensures compliance with building, Health and Safety regulations and Environmental codes.
- Contributes to an accident-free work environment by complying with operator's instructions for the use of power tools, wearing protective equipment, reporting incidents of unsafe work activity to Line Manager, and following standard safety precautions.

Requirements

- A diploma related to Electrical field
- 5 years hands on experience electrical and electronics

Job-Specific Skills:
- The ability to work at height safely.
- The ability to work out of business hours during emergencies.
- Be able to perform essential function for this job such as standing, working sometimes under a limited space, lifting or move some weights occasionally.
-DRIVING LICENSE IS A MUST

Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill with the ability to give clear and precise instruction to third parties. Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels is vital to this role.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office is preferred.
- Be able to read, interpret, and modify electrical prints and schematics
- Proficiency in electrical installations with conduit and wiring practices.
- Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag out system.
- Good in cable management.
- Self starter with the personal drive and motivation to proactively identify issues, progress activities and deliver solutions.
- A good understanding of property maintenance, methodologies and processes.
