Job description
The maintenance control duty engineer will manage the tactical management of fleet health, oversight, and management of technical and operational events outside of the main base. Provide technical support and guidance to outstations engineering teams. Provide support to network operations to manage recovery from disruptions. Monitor aircraft status based on outstation feedback and aircraft health monitoring tools and advise concerned stakeholders for necessary corrective action, ensuring the highest levels of safety, airworthiness, and compliance.
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with the senior engineer maintenance control centre to manage, control, and coordinate all outstation aircraft on ground situations and where necessary issue dispensations or concessions in line with known operational and engineering safety practices.
- Monitor fleet health status, review downlinks, and plan interventions to uphold aircraft serviceability and optimal dispatch reliability. Ensure all unscheduled or preventative maintenance downtime is fully utilised (both Dubai and outstations), especially repeat defect rectification and unscheduled work.
- Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify, highlight, and resolve any issues affecting schedule integrity, operational continuity, and aircraft availability.
- Monitor and maintain an in-depth and current understanding of the company's aircraft fleet status considering the technical, regulatory, and compliance documentation, for example, technical notifications (TN), quality notices (QN), technical follow-up (TFU), and engineering procedures manual (EPM).
- Manage all aspects of outstation aircraft on ground events holistically including providing technical solutions, logistical coordination, regulatory compliance, and adherence to local laws and regulations.
- Provide accurate and timely updates regarding any ongoing outstation disruptions or aircraft on ground (AOG) to the maintenance control duty manager, network control, senior management, and all relevant operation teams.
- Deliver expert technical advice, guidance, and support to outstation engineering teams, flight operations, and cabin crew to ensure operational excellence.
- Be responsible for the successful completion of all mandatory training and recurrent modules to enhance professional competencies and ensure compliance with CAMO, regulatory standards, and CAR 145 requirements.
Qualifications & experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering - aeronautical subjects, mechanical, avionics, electronic, technical engineering, or maintenance engineering license.
- 8+ years of experience in engineering, maintenance control, or as an engineering licensed engineer; approved holder.
- Must have licence in at least two aircraft types approvals.
- Recognised aircraft engineer's license with relevant fleet type endorsements.
- Fully conversant with air legislation and legal matters that relate to the operation and maintenance of aircraft to international standards.
