Job description / Role
G4S is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer for Electronics Security Systems based in the UAE. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will join a multi cultural team of Engineers and Technicians to handle large and small Electronics Security Systems projects in association with the Project Managers / Engineers and Design Engineers.
Responsibilities includes but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for day to day delivery of maintenance services for Low current systems like CCTV Surveillance Systems, Electronic Access Control Systems etc. specifically preventive/predictive maintenance, corrective maintenance and performance improvement for automation assets observing work plan compliance to achieve equipment optimization.
- Own the technical interface with operational team, pass all relevant information to the team mates and assisting them to carry out the work.
- Delegate the timely implementation of approved modifications and ensure that the configuration status of equipment and mechanical setup is up to date and technically managed.
- Support the Assistant Maintenance Manager in data gathering for engineering/automation reports and root cause analysis
- Pro-active involvement and attendance of operational meetings to understand automated processing and how best to overlay maintenance plans, sharing output with other engineers and technicians.
- Regularly audit necessary maintenance tasks ensuring the integrity and reliability of equipment.
- Ensure technical resource provision to meet maintenance plan and operational processing requirements in liaison with engineering and operational team leaders.
- Maintenance QHSE and customer care standards as per company policy.
- Make sure complete and timely back up is taken for all the work
- Reporting system as per Dept/Project and company requirements are followed
Requirements
- An Engineering degree / Diploma holder in Electrical, Electronics or its equivalents
- Minimum 5-7 years experience with 2-4 years experience in handling maintenance of ELV systems like CCTV, access control systems.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of Security Systems like Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, Gate barrier, Intruder Alarm, etc.
- Project execution with an understanding of project reports and operational controls
- Experience in network maintenance will be an advantage
- Good working knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and MS Projects.
- Should have acumen to diagnose breakdown problems and work out the solution
- Should have good understanding of best practices adopted for maintenance services delivery
- Knowledge of local laws will be an added advantage
- Must possess strong execution acumen
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Have pleasing personality and a hard worker
