Maintenance Engineer-Metal Refinery

Job description / Role

This opportunity is with our client based in Dubai. The role involves overseeing maintenance of critical plant equipment in a metal smelting and refining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

-Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on furnaces, kettles, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.
-Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
-Inspect, test, and maintain plant machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
-Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to improve reliability and reduce breakdowns.
-Coordinate with the engineering and operations team to plan and execute maintenance activities without disrupting production.
-Monitor and report on equipment performance, maintenance metrics, and potential risks.
-Assist in upgrades, modifications, and installation of new equipment when required.
-Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements on-site.
-Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and reporting for audits and process improvements.
-Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians or team members as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
-Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance within the metal smelting or refining industry (preferably tin/lead).
-Strong knowledge of furnace, kettle, electrical, and mechanical systems.
-Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
-Ability to work on-site at a factory/plant.
