Engineering Services
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the definition, planning, and execution of all maintenance activities on the demonstrator site.
He/she ensures that all systems and equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and available condition, in line with operational requirements and contractual expectations.
Working within a lean organization, the Maintenance Manager combines coordination responsibilities with hands-on technical involvement. He/she directly supervises the Maintenance Engineer and ensures close coordination with the Operations Engineer to align maintenance activities with service delivery.
The Maintenance Manager contributes to the overall performance of the demonstrator by ensuring that maintenance supports operational continuity and system reliability at all times
Indicatively and not restrictively:
Maintenance Management
• Define and implement the maintenance plan, including preventive and corrective activities, ensuring alignment with operational needs. Supervise the execution of maintenance tasks on site and ensure that all interventions are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure that all systems and equipment meet required standards of safety, reliability, and availability, supporting continuous operation of the demonstrator.
Technical Execution
• Actively contribute to maintenance activities on site, performing hands-on interventions when required. Provide technical expertise for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolution of equipment failures.
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all maintenance activities, including interventions, failures, and corrective actions.
Team Management & Coordination
• Directly manage the Maintenance Engineer, organizing daily activities and priorities. Ensure effective coordination with the Operations Engineer to minimize disruption to operations and maintain service continuity.
• Coordinate on-site support services such as cleaning from a technical and operational perspective, ensuring alignment with maintenance needs.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
• Monitor maintenance performance through appropriate indicators and contribute to operational reporting. Identify recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability.
• Support continuous improvement of maintenance processes, tools, and practices in line with project objectives.
Interface with Stakeholders
• Coordinate with the Systems Contractor for technical matters, including issue resolution, maintenance requirements, and system improvements. Support communication with the client when required on maintenance-related topics.
Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering or Technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or equivalent)
Skills / Experience
Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in maintenance of technical or industrial systems, with at least 5 years in a similar role involving supervision or coordination. Experience in transport, rail, automated systems, or comparable environments is highly desirable.
• Strong technical background with the ability to perform hands-on maintenance activities across multiple systems. Good understanding of maintenance planning, execution, and performance monitoring.
Core Competencies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a structured approach to technical issues. Ability to operate both as a coordinator and as a hands-on technician within a lean organization.
• Good organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize activities in a dynamic environment. Reliable, autonomous, and capable of working closely with operations teams.
Tools
• Professional use of standard office tools (Excel). Familiarity with maintenance management systems and reporting tools is an advantage.
