Job purpose

Plan and prepare work instructions that provide direction for electrical, mechanical, instrumentation & controls (I&C), and support-based maintenance work with regard to corrective maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance (PM), surveillances, and the implementation of modifications.

Key activities, responsibility & accountability

Activity: Work planning

Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Plan online and outage work tasks on a daily basis, in a manner that results in radiological exposure being as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) to meet ALARA goals.

Conduct field walk downs to identify and analyze corrective and PM, modification, surveillance activities and provide input for refining and improving work package quality.

Coordinate with work management (WM), operations (OP), and engineering (ENG) to identify and resolve work package issues.

Identify purchase or procurement recommendations for all materials needed for work package execution to ensure work packages are adequately resourced.

Review maintenance procedures to facilitate and enhance work package development, maintain compliance with codes, standards, vendor recommendations, and maintenance direction.

Perform job tasks in a timely manner and with quality to achieve the highest level of safety and reliability for online and outage activities in support of both internal and external organizational needs (i.e. operations, work management, LTMSA contractors, etc.).

Participate in outage schedule rotation if required to ensure plant downtime is minimized.

Participate in planning maintenance work activities to meet milestone commitments.

Follow industrial safety, nuclear safety, radiation safety, human performance, and regulatory compliance requirements to promote a safety conscious environment.

Analyze equipment deficiency, human performance, and industrial safety events to establish corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.

Endorse training, industry benchmarking, and World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) best practices to ensure continuous improvement.

Participate in designating priorities for work activities to develop a resource loaded implementation schedule that accomplishes required maintenance.

Conduct all maintenance programs execution in accordance with the conduct of maintenance, and as directed by approved plant programs and procedures.

Assist with providing proper oversight of Long-Term Maintenance Services Agreement (LTMSA) contractors performing electrical maintenance tasks and verify that all work carried out is of the highest standards of safety and quality, and in compliance with the department and company-wide approved procedures, processes, and quality assurance program to effectively support safe and reliable plant operation.

Outage and emergency response organization (ERO) support

Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work or off-hours support.

The incumbent is expected to perform standard activities as per attachments 4 & 5 in the job description procedure (relating to health, safety and environment, security and business continuity, people management, excellence and quality management).

Professional certifications

Minimum

Technical certificates in the related job area.

Qualifications

Minimum

Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant science.

3 years of relevant experience.

Or equivalent as described in the job description procedure (HR-PRC-0004).

10 years of relevant experience, out of which:

5 years of nuclear power plant experience.
