Overview

Our Maintenance Programmes and Configuration department oversees three key areas:

  • Fleet Maintenance Programmes: Defines and manages aircraft maintenance schedules, integrating manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and efficient maintenance forecasting.
  • Fleet Modification Programmes: Coordinates aircraft modifications, including spare provisioning, schedule management, and communication with manufacturers for updated technical publications.
  • Fleet Configuration Management: Maintains accurate configuration records of aircraft and components, ensuring traceability and supporting supply chain, reliability, and lease returns.

The Maintenance Programmes and Configuration Officer will supervise, deliver, and optimize the Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP) to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and develop a configuration management programme for aircraft, engines, and components. This will include the modification setup process as well as component control and inventory data management, including all incoming engines and components, which must be fully compliant with all airworthiness regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise and continuously maintain the modification initial setup process for Airbus, Boeing, engines, and components, ensuring timely and effective implementation in Ultramain of all Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins applicable to the Emirates fleet.
  • Supervise, maintain, and continuously improve the Aircraft and Supplemental Maintenance Program (AMP and SMP) to ensure that maintenance is optimized to enable it to be planned and carried out in the most effective and economical way.
  • Supervise the relationships with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Airbus, Boeing, and engine manufacturers to ensure that all Emirates-related issues are communicated and, where appropriate, incorporated within the revision cycle of the Maintenance Planning Data document and Maintenance Review Board Report. Responsible for defining and managing internal service level agreements with other supporting departments.
  • Ensure that all tasks including Special Engineering Work Card, AMP, SMP, and Engineering Orders (EOs) which are related to the continuous maintainability of the aircraft, engines, and components are assessed and validated to meet the compliance requirements of the OEM and/or regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure basic data control definition creation as per defined standards under original part manufacturer (OEM) or Emirates approved sources, ensuring correct interpretation for part relationships and other essential controlling parameters requiring effective part number control within Ultramain as per approved procedures.
  • Supervise the creation, revision, and administration of configuration models for all aircraft fleet types, engines, and landing gears. Incorporate new models and maintenance groupings as defined by the engineers into the Ultramain configuration modules accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure that any and all anomalies are escalated to the section supervisors or engineers for review and action.
  • Investigate and resolve issues escalated by internal and external customers regarding maintenance programs and compliance and modification management for aircraft, engine, and component maintenance.
  • Develop corrective actions for the Maintenance Programmes and Configuration team and propose improvement recommendations for internal and external customers.
  • Monitor and publish the department's Key Performance Indicators to ensure that the department's performance is at a high level and continuous improvement programs are in place to improve performance, efficiency, and support the delivery of the department strategy.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • 12 years schooling or equivalent + 5+ years experience in maintenance planning, technical records, or other associated technical support organizations.
  • Or, graduate with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Must be fully conversant with aircraft documentation and records including Aircraft Maintenance Manual, IPC, Work Packages, and Maintenance Schedules.
  • Knowledge and use of Airline/MRO Data Management and Digital Documentation Systems is preferred.
  • Understand aircraft/power plant systems and components.
  • Sound knowledge of computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
  • Knowledge and experience in the application and administration of aircraft regulatory and legislation requirements associated with airworthiness compliance and management.
