Management Consultant – Electricity / Utilities - Dubai

Client is a growing management and engineering consulting practice in the Middle East. They are originally based in Europe, with a consulting focus on operations and strategy management specialising in the electricity and utilities sector.

They have a wide range of customers in the transmission and distribution sector including government owned utility firms, electricity network operators and large engineering firms across Europe and the Middle East. Their project portfolio will include strategy development, grid development, operational process transformation, asset management, investment advisory and owners engineering.

As part of their growth, they are looking for experienced a Business Consultant / Management Consultant to join their team based in Dubai, UAE. The candidate will form part of an experienced and flexible project delivery team, helping electricity and utilities clients to realise their potential.

Duties:
• Support the Project Manager to deliver consulting packages to customers in the electricity or utilities sector
• Carrying out research and data collection to understand the client organisation;
• Facilitating workshops on process analysis, process redesign, strategy development
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to formulate pragmatic solutions;
• Work closely with engineers to improve their approach and processes
• Evaluate business processes efficiency and formulate improvement recommendations;
• Articulate business ideas, suggestions and problems
• Develop pragmatic solutions to convert business ideas into deliverable solutions;
• Presenting findings and recommendations to clients;
• Develop client relationships and identify further projects to be executed

For this position, we are clearly looking for someone with prior consulting experience in this sector. This position is based in Dubai with travel to customer locations across the region. This role will suit someone with experience or the desire to work in a start-up / entrepreneurial environment.

Salary:
USD 80,000 to 130,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Master degree in Science or Engineering
• Excellent understanding of the electricity or utilities sector
• Demonstrable understanding of the challenges facing the electricity or utilities sector;
• At least 2-5 years of business consulting experience
• Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy, mechanical/electrical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, project management,
• Solid generalist business experiences, combined with project execution skills in the utilities or electricity sector
• Analytical mind with the ability to synthetize, abstract and communicate the information at a level suitable for the target audience
• Fluent in English
• Familiarity with Project Management / Consulting Frameworks
• Experience in working in the Middle-East or emerging markets is a plus
