Job description / Role
- Plans and conducts operational, financial and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and standard operating procedures.
- Establish work processes and document standard guidelines and service level agreements for process outputs.
- Determine compliance with selected policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Make written recommendations to company management to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness of the control systems of functions reviewed.
- Perform special investigations as requested by the company leadership.
- Establish effective working relationships with all key stakeholders, both inside and outside of the company.
- Consults with business heads and operational / functional staff at all levels to promote good business practices.
- Assists with compliance of established policies and Procedures.
- Design and establishment of work processes that optimize results and impact timelines.
- Identifying business process risks and eliminating them to enhance functional effectiveness.
- Planning and performing operational and financial audits.
- Developing testing methodologies to evaluate the adequacy of controls.
- Documenting the results of the evaluations.
- Developing recommendations and reports based on audits and presenting these ideas to senior management.
- Formulating professional development and educational plans for junior staff members.
- Planning and allocating resources and individuals in accordance with skills and schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management or Finance.
- 6 years of increasingly responsible professional experience (preference in real estate, financial institutions or project management businesses).
- Relevant licenses, programs or certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited program
- Certifications in Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Recognized certificates in Business Process Re-engineering
- Strong background and experience with audit methodologies and techniques
- Prior success conducting external or internal audits
- Ability to build relationships while asking tough questions
- Excellent written and oral communication ability
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Analytical ability and systemic thinking
