Manager, Business Intelligence - Middle East

Position Overview
• The Regional Manager Business Intelligence (Middle East) will report to the Head of Business Intelligence. S/he will manage, contribute to, execute, and monitor all business intelligence (BI) activities and initiatives in the Middle East.
• The Regional Manager Business Intelligence (Middle East) will build our BI (source comment) capacity in the region, and ensure that the BI product meets our expectations of quality, timeliness and our administrative and compliance requirements.
• The successful applicant will maintain a high level of awareness regarding the operations of Thomson Reuters’ Risk Managed Services, its BI unit, its strategic initiatives, and its day-to-day activities.
• The successful applicant will be directly responsible on a day-to-day basis for managing the initiation, editing, quality control and timely delivery of the Middle East business intelligence case load, for building capacity, and for ensuring output meets the expectations of clients and our own established internal procedures and processes.

Requirements

• Solid experience in journalism and/or in enhanced due diligence in a role related to the key responsibilities and accountabilities detailed above.
• Advanced written English skills, the ability to write, review and edit complex risk assessments.
• An appreciation of and interest in contemporary political, economic, regulatory and social issues as they apply to the Middle East.
• Well-developed interviewing skills and the ability to engage sources and colleagues at all levels.
• A well-established and comprehensive network of contacts throughout the Middle East and a demonstrated ability to manage high volume input from that network.
• Decision making, problem solving and advanced interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain productive relationships with colleagues and associates amid demands for high quality output and pressure of deadline. The ability to troubleshoot, and to resolve conflicting demands and priorities.
• Fluency in spoken and written Arabic
