Job description / Role
Synopsis
To manage the Arabic communications function by creating content for the group's internal, external, and digital communications channels. To develop and maintain relationships with local and GCC media, effectively communicating the company's corporate priorities and initiatives. To take responsibility for the delivery of innovative, creative, and cost-effective integrated communications strategies that align with regional business and customer needs. To take ownership of all facets of external Arabic press and public relations for the company's divisions, ensuring the communications strategy is delivered with effective messaging that is aligned to business strategy. To support executives with Arabic content services, including drafting letters and translating correspondence. Additionally, to manage strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including Abu Dhabi government entities, strategic entities and organisations, the shareholder, and the Abu Dhabi Media Office.
Accountabilities
- Manage the development, translation, transcreation, approval and distribution of content for Arabic communications channels, including corporate internal messaging, press releases and statements.
- Coordinate responses to Arabic media requests about the Group and its divisions, preparing written statements on the company's behalf and having a regular exchange of information with the media.
- Identify positive Arabic PR story opportunities to promote the Group and its divisions, driving publicity.
- Strengthening media relationships through effective collaboration, pursue networking opportunities with local media to keep them updated with the organisation's major announcements and new products.
- Preserve and reflect the Group's core values and national identity by linking it to the use of Arabic language, expressing the values and culture of the Group's home, the UAE.
- Preparing Arabic quotes, talking points, speeches and scripts for the executive leadership team for media-related events and workshops and proofreading all translated content for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy.
- Effectively manage stakeholders, from executive level to departmental content owners, providing Arabic communications advice.
- Support corporate emergency procedures during disruption and major incidents as required.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with Abu Dhabi Government and strategic entities and organisations to enhance the company's corporate image and support mutual objectives, ensuring alignment with governmental policies and initiatives
- Act as the department's primary liaison with the shareholder, ensuring transparent and effective communication regarding activities, performance, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Abu Dhabi Media Office to coordinate communication strategies, align messaging, and maximise positive media coverage.
Requirements:
- Higher Education/Degree or journalistic qualification. Strong IT background/competency preferred.
- At least eight years of communications experience or Press Office/PR Agency/journalism experience, aviation/aerospace background is advantageous.
- Exceptional proficiency in Arabic & English writing and communications, with a proven ability to produce outstanding, high-quality content.
- English writing and proofreading: ability to write quickly, under pressure and to a high standard.
- Proven experience of producing content across a range of channels and exposure to digital content.
- Creative with a strong sense for aesthetics and attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office: the highest standards of presentation and administrative skills are expected.
- Flexibility: the nature of the department's work can result in the need to work extra unsociable hours with little or no notice.
