JOB TITLE
Manager - Data and Analytics
JOB PURPOSE
To lead and coordinate advanced analytical activities/complex analytical projects throughout the organisation and develop analytical capability within the bank to ensure required data requirements are met
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Data and Analytics Management
• Guide business teams, IT and other functions through a rigorous framework to scope and score analytical projects in order to ensure alignment and prioritise those with the highest value for the bank
• Create KPI’s for each analytics project in order to track/measure success and identify areas for improvement
• Communicate the portfolio of analytics projects and associated roadmaps to key internal stakeholders in order to raise awareness, secure buy-in/support and identify new/additional projects
• Introduce training programmes for advanced analytics and data science across business teams in order to build awareness and capability
• Develop relationships and interact with external data and analytics vendors to stay up to date with industry trends and the latest technology/solutions that can support the implementation and continuous improvement of analytics projects
Data Governance and Best Practices
• Monitor overall data and analytics standards, guidelines, best practices to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture industry standards and IT strategy
• Liaise with external regulatory authorities to develop data analytics governance in order to facilitate data availability, quality and ownership
Data Security and Risk Management
• Protect the bank’s data against IT risks, including unauthorized access to information, data integrity problems, loss of processing capability, and poor service levels and provide recommendations to ensure the information system is successfully exploited to achieve continuous improvement and competitive advantage by identifying needs
People Management
• Manage self and team in line with the bank’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance
• Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation
Budget Management
• Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures
• Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that the bank delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation
Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to contribute to organisational and departmental change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment
Salary:
AED
35,000 to 45,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Minimum Experience
• At least 8 years of experience in Information Technology with broad experience across several analytical and data science domains of which 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or Equivalent
Professional Qualifications
• TOGAF Open Architecture Framework Certification or Equivalent
