Synopsis

The Manager Data and Platform Engineering will be responsible for technical leadership of scrum teams, developing and supporting applications, ensuring alignment with the best practices and standards set by the Data and Platform Engineering Chapter, while actively contributing to the Chapter

Accountabilities

- Provide Data and Platform Engineering delivery and support capabilities and guidance and technical assistance to the data engineers and customers.
- Execute Strategy, Follow Principles and Design Frameworks for Delivery.
- Large scale complex application development, enhancements and maintenance projects/programs
- Lead a team of Data and Platform Associates/Engineers
- Expert level SME Data and Platform Engineering skills.
- Interact with Architect and Technical leadership over the roadmap for the evaluation and adoption of technical tools / technologies.
- Provide guidance and feedback to team members in technical design and understanding system functionality.
- Carry complete ownership of the technical aspect of the system, including quality and timeliness of development / testing / support.
- Recommend technical improvements to design, development, testing, adaptation to and acceptance of new methodologies and tools, code refactoring, performance optimization etc.
- Develop, guide and verify Development of applications aligned to best practices and standards, SDLC Frameworks.
- Ensure documentation is reviewed, kept updated and easily accessible to all
- Contribute to and support Data Engineering Chapter activities to modernise, grow and mature data and platform engineering capabilities.
- Perform peer code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to continuously improve overall coding quality
- Provide recommendations to continuously improve the quality of data products
- Contribute to low-level architecture/technical design aligned to the high-level solution and business requirements
- Work within the agile development team to analyse and decompose stories into tasks for simpler implementation
- Proactively identify new frameworks / tools / processes to enhance the efficiency of the development team
- Responsible for the end to end quality of your own and team's deliverables
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members throughout all the implementation lifecycle.

- 8+ years of experience in IT Industry
- Min 5+ years of experience with Azure Data Engineering Stack (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Event Hub, Cosmos DB, ADLS Gen2, Function app). Good understanding of other Azure services
- 3+ years of experience with Python / Pyspark
- Excellent knowledge of SQL
- Good understanding of Data Warehouse Architecture, Data Modelling and design concepts
- Experience in Power BI, SFTP, Messaging, APIs
- Lead and guide the data engineering team technically and share best practices with the team
- Excellent analytical and organization skills.
- Effective working in a team as well as working independently.
- Experience of working in Agile delivery
- Knowledge of software development best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- DP200/DP201 certification is added advantage
