Manager - HSE

Job description / Role

Main Purpose of the Job:

As the Manager - HSE you will be responsible for driving a collaborative culture of HSE across the Middle East business, which covers oil and gas, power, water, transport and urban infrastructure. You will review current process and look to create an HSE environment of high standard and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:


* Communicate and Ensure effective implementation of HSE policy across the region
* Support management in setting up of HSE objectives, targets for the organisation, including the preparation of an annual HSE plan and audit thereof
* Prepare and Implement thorough audit program inclusive of ongoing construction sites
* Ensure that all non-conformances generated during an External/Internal audit are closed out
* Coordinate with Group on implementation of HSE minimum requirements and procedures
* Ensure that Project Quality and HSE plans are effectively implemented by periodic site visit and audits.
* Expert in carrying out HSE risk assessment & Environment aspect Impact analysis for construction sites and offices.
* Develop a learning element to regularly update and educate staff on HSE initiatives
* Schedule regular and ad-hoc HSE audits; develop program audit within the organisation
* Produce and develop the Project HSE training and HSE orientation on-site to be delivered by site HSE professionals
* Coordinate incident investigations and reporting on outcomes
* Monitor environmental control activities including waste minimisation, and drive sustainability initiatives
* Regular monthly reporting of HSE activities and quarterly for board meeting reviews
* Engagement and representation of Company interests with local HSE and other relevant Authorities within the various trading jurisdictions across the Middle East, including compliance with local regulations and registration requirements
* Participation in relevant local or regional HSE interest groups to best represent the Company's interests and maintenance of an appropriate high profile within the community and target industries
* Represent the interests of the Company on matters relating to HSE through direct engagement and interaction with Clients as necessary and appropriate

Requirements

Essential Candidate Requirements:

* Degree qualified in any relevant engineering/environmental discipline;
* Relevant health and safety qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP etc.) from a recognised institution
* Minimum 15 years' experience in a similar role; experience of working in a corporate HSE role across multiple sectors, but as a minimum including oil and gas
* Fully conversant with HSE policies and standards
* Technically sound in HSE practices including P&ID, HAZOP, SIL etc
* Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to prepare, write and make presentations, both internally and externally
