Manager - Infrastructure & Networking (Azure & 365)

Job description / Role

This is a strategic leadership role overseeing infrastructure, cloud, and network operations in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will drive Azure adoption, ensure robust connectivity and security, and lead cross-sector teams and MSPs to deliver high availability and performance.

Description

* Lead infrastructure and networking teams, including both direct reports and managed service providers.
* Oversee network operations: firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, and wireless connectivity.
* Manage a cloud-first infrastructure: primarily Azure and Microsoft 365, with residual on prem workloads (servers, AD, storage).
* Drive Azure IaaS and PaaS adoption, providing technical direction and advisory support.
* Ensure disaster recovery, business continuity and operational efficiency.
* Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
* Collaborate closely with InfoSec, EA, Solutions, and Project Management functions.

* 10+ years in IT infrastructure and network management, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
* Deep expertise in Microsoft technologies: Microsoft 365, Azure (IaaS/PaaS), Active Directory, servers, and storage.
* Strong networking background: firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, and wireless connectivity.
* Proven experience managing MSPs, vendors, and technology budgets.
* Exposure to large enterprise environments operating at Microsoft 365 E5 scale.
* Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a leadership style that energises teams.
