Manager - Materials Management

Job description / Role

Materials Management manages company stores covering materials, equipment, uniforms and archived documents. Document archiving entails storing, managing and tracking company documents, while inventory control entails planning, organizing, directing, and managing the company’s inventory.

– Materials Management works in both an office and warehouse. Typically there is no heavy lifting, bending, or stooping required, however, the Managers may be required to move between multiple facilities. The attitudes required of the Manager includes a strong commitment to customer service, leadership, and people management. Should have excellent interpersonal skills, and exhibit an awareness of and sensitivity to other cultures. In addition, excellent planning and organizational abilities are required.Will be responsible for storing the company’s documents while also ensuring their accuracy, quality and integrity, as well as adhering to record retention policies, safeguard information and retrieve data more effectively. A further responsibility is to work in an Eco-friendly and efficient manner, and evolve as new laws and company guidelines are initiated.

Requirements

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring the Total Cost of Inventory on hand does not exceed Budgeted Target
• Managing the Inventory cost as a % of Revenue to ensure it does not exceed budgeted target
• Ensuring the Physical Stores space is utilized to within the Budgeted target
• Ensuring the Stock Audits is conducted on time and accurately with minimal targeted variances.
• Keeping Customer Complaints to within set targets

Preferred:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Logistics Business management or Warehousing.
• 5 years’ experience in the same role and at least 10 years in industry
• Advanced knowledge of setting up and managing day to day warehousing operations.

Desirable:

• Should be a member of any relevant professional awarding body.
