Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose and Scope:
- Plans, directs, coordinates and manages the activities of assigned personnel to provide technological support to the energy efficient operation of 3 LNG Trains, Utilities Plants and the Storage and Export facilities with production capacity of 8.0 million tons of LNG, LPG and Sulphur as well as Natural Gas production facilities with supply capacity of 1000 MMSCFD to GASCO Habshan
- Provides complete Technical and operational expertise, solutions and support to the complex operations thereby improving plant reliability, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring maximized production.
- This includes providing process engineering back-up to the Plant for troubleshooting, process performance analysis and plant optimization while ensuring that products meet required specifications and all Plant equipment are operated safely/efficiently. It also includes provision of a specialist services concerning short & long term improvement & modifications upgrade studies towards achieving Engineering Division KPI’s.
- Maintains Regular Technical Coordinations with ADMA-OPCO, GASCO and ADNOC on Plant Operations, Product Quality, Recovery and Long Term Plans.
- Participates in Research and Development activity of ADNOC through GASCO.
- Communicates with CAMS Graduates in their preparation of PDP and conducting Assessments on regular intervals and review their overall performance progress and address areas of concerns.

Dimensions:
- Financial
- Control the Department's operating budget of over US$600,000/- and Study & FEED Services of value ranging from US$100,00 to around US$3MM with financial authority of US$50,000/-.

Manpower:
- Supervises the work and activities of the Process Engineering Team:
- 1/ Team Leader Process Engineering with 3/Snr. Process Engineers & 2/Lead Process Engineer
- 2/ Team Leader Process Engineering (Operations) with 6/ Lead Process Engineers
- 1/ Senior Energy Engineer with 1/ Lead/ Energy Engineer
- Total: 16.

Main Duties and Accountabilities
- Plans, directs, coordinates and manages the activities of assigned personnel in the Process Engineering & Energy Department.
- Performs techno - managerial functions and exercise financial authority at the level established by Management.
- Agrees and sets Departmental objectives related to the Engineering Division performance targets and manages appropriate strategies in order to translate company missions into measurable Divisional/Departmental activities.
- Applies proficiency in both managerial and technical fields over a large depth and range of multi -disciplinary specialized engineering/operations disciplines.
- Monitors the Department’s Key Performance Indicators and manages their successful progress.
- Develops and implements Departments policies and strategies including Divisional / Departmental objectives.
- Provides guidance and participates in development and application of sound and safe engineering practices and procedures.
- Directs the efforts of the department in support of Plant operations to maximize profits through optimization of existing facilities and application of new technology.
- Guide and direct improvements in the plant by leading initiatives to enhance reliability, availability and production effectiveness.
- Continuously evaluate system performance and identify improvement opportunities that add incremental value and sustainability.
- Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of the Process Engineering Department to ensure that:
- Maximized production by identifying and analyzing capacity bottlenecks; recommends solutions and supervises the implementation.
- Optimization and improvements modification initiatives are technically and economically justified and are not detrimental to the process or safe operation of the LNG plant, OAG and IGD Plants.
- Long & short term problems solving services is available to the company for the LNG plant, OAG and IGD Plants and projects.
- Long Term Gas supply estimates are available for corporate process planning purposes as a 5 year and 10 years Production Plan
- Flaring, Emission and Energy Conservation studies/modifications to meet Corporate KPIs.
- Provides required technical support to Vice President (Engineering)& Vice President(Operations) and their teams for reliable, efficient and sustainable operation of the LNG, OAG and IGD complex. Acts as a reference for the technical audit of the plant facilities. Plans and organizes the necessary studies and analyses of technological issues connected with the operation of the LNG, OAG and IGDPlant complex.
- Leads diagnosis of problems within the entire LNG, OAG and IGD complex and implementation of recommended solutions by applying expertise and deep range/depth of operating job knowledge.
- Guides and supervises plant/equipment trip analyses, incident investigations and produces reports with recommendations.
- Retains responsibility and accountability for the effective application of the solutions to complex operating problems.
- Acting as a focal point in advising & supporting ADGAS facilities aimed at maximizing energy efficiency in the plant Process and Utility areas on an economically justifiable basis, through troubleshooting, plant optimization, energy effective operations and early detection of potential problems by close monitoring
- Understands the corporate objectives and develops the appropriate strategies in order to translate the Company goals into measurable departmental targets and activities. Contribute to the Annual & Five Year Business Planning, and ADGAS Key Performance Key Indicators
- Acting as a focal point in communication with Operations, Maintenance, Integrity & Quality and Projects Divisions for all Process Engineering studies, modifications and projects.
- Manage, supervise, monitor, and approve all Front End Loading (FEL) activities for Process Engineering activities of modifications and projects including in-house studies, consultant studies, Front End Design & Engineering (FEED), and Project Definition Reports.
- Manage, supervise, monitor and control Detailed Design & Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) works for Process Engineering activities handled by Engineering Division.
- Provide support to Projects Division and approve detailed design & engineering deliverables of all major projects.
- Coordinates with ADMA-OPCO senior staff to maintain production targets set by the Management with proper control to minimize flaring, protect environment, and achieve targets.
- Apply applicable value improving practices such as Setting Business Priorities, Technology Selection, PHSER, Value Engineering, Design to Capacity, Constructability, Team Integration, Risk Identification and Mitigation to give assurance to the organization that modifications and projects are managed effectively to achieve its goals and performance targets in terms of cost, operability, schedule, reliability and safety.
- Establish and implement appropriate best design, engineering and project management processes and systems to facilitate smooth running of various phases of work and to control integrity and assurance of deliverables.
- Monitors and controls C&MR budgets, schedules, and resources address variances suitably to ensure progress as per plan
- Participates in the preparation and updating of safety procedures, and ensures that safety standards and procedures, with particular emphasis on technical safety, are properly adhered to within the LNG plant and ensures that agreed safety audit items are progressed through Process Engineering Section for engineering development.
- Reviews and approves the technical aspects of all capital and major revenue projects covering technical feasibility, economic justification, and impact on plant performance and safety.
- Key member of ADGAS Emergency Response Team by providing relevant Operations input and interfaces with ADMA-OPCO.
- Utilizes his technical skills and depth of experience to identify potential risk in operation activities through risk assessment and advanced audits and other means to ensure HSE compliance and production losses are minimized.
- Plans and controls the manpower requirements for the Department ensuring effective implementation of the Emiratization policy. Manages the identification of training needs and the establishment of job targets for all the jobs under his managerial responsibility through continuous follow up for effective succession planning.
- Ensures the proper implementation of approved training and development programs within the Division with emphasis on UAE Nationals. Monitors and administers the implementation of approved learning and development programs including CAMS for his team with focus on enhancing capabilities of UAE Nationals.
- Keeps abreast with LNG Development & technologies in relevant codes of practices, standards, operational practices and other chemical engineering aspects. When required, guides and leads preparation of technical papers on behalf of ADGAS for conferences.
- Initiates, implements and promotes HSE improvements changes and drives better awareness across the workforce
- Demonstrates appropriate levels of knowledge and responsibility regarding Technical and Operational Integrity Processes of AIRMS.
- Performs other related or similar duties as assigned.
- Plans and controls process engineering resource allocations and performance progress monitoring of various ongoing Projects such as LG-7, LG-8, GT-4,5,6, FER Scheme-8 and 16, Scheme-9, IGD-E1 and IGD-E2 and address areas of concern.

- Has a regular daily contact with Vice President (Engineering), Vice President (Operations)r, Vice President (Integrity and Quality), and Vice President (Projects). This is in addition to regular contacts with Maintenance, HSE, and Strategy & Corporate Development Divisions.

External
- Has frequent contacts with Process Licensors, Shareholders technical representatives on matters related to process engineering problems and represents ADGAS at meetings with the same e.g. Technical Sub Committee.
- Has regular contact with ADMA-OPCO, GASCO and ADNOC on technical matters.
- Has regular contacts with external vendors / technical consultants / specialist services on plant and technology related matters. This is in addition to Chemical Eng. Institutes & organizations to discuss solutions of specific technical problems.
- Latitude and Independence of Thought
- Reports to Vice President (Engineering).
- Work independently on technical matters within frame work of the Company’s general policies and according to professional standards.
- Work accomplishments are subject to management review and direction.

Physical Effort
- Moderate, Routine visits to plant
- 20% of working time at computer.

Work Environment
- Normally A/C environment with over 10% of working time spent outdoors, exposed to noise, dust, high humidity and environmental adverse temperature conditions. On call 24 hours while on duty.

Minimum Requirements and Competencies.
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in complex Plant operations/ Engineering in the oil refining or gas industry with minimum 5 years at senior level with multi discipline exposure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical process requirements and energy management.
- Proven knowledge of product quality and emission control measures.
- Familiarity with hydrocarbon economics, cash flow analysis and decision analysis.
- Strong analytical ability with attention to details.
- Proven ability to manage challenging deadlines and adapt to changing workloads with high degree of initiative and independence to deliver results.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Effective Leadership and influencing skills.
- Team player with strong collaborative skill.
