Marine Fish Hatchery Live Feed Supervisor

Job description / Role

We are seeking a dedicated Live Feed Supervisor to oversee and manage the feeding operations of aquatic species at our facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the health and growth of our aquatic life through efficient feeding strategies, monitoring, and team leadership.

•Supervise daily production of zooplanktons especially copepods, rotifers, and artemia – at very large scale.
•Supervise daily production of micro-algae especially nannochloropsis, chlorella, isochrysis, pavlova, and chaetoceros – at very large scale.
•Develop and implement live feeding schedules and protocols in line with species-specific requirements.
•Monitor the health and behavior of marine fish larvae during feeding times and report any abnormalities or concerns.
•Train and lead the live feed staff to maintain high standards of care and operational efficiency.
•Maintain accurate records of live feed routines, feed consumption, and inventory management.
•Collaborate with veterinary and hatchery teams to optimize feeding practices and aquatic welfare.
•Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality regulations within the feeding operations.
•Collaborate with the Hatchery Manager to develop and improve hatchery protocols and strategies.

•He has previous experience in producing micro-algae at very large scale, such as nannochloropsis, chlorella, isochrysis, pavlova, and chaetoceros.
•10 + years of experience in producing zooplanktons at very large scale, such as copepods, rotifers, and artemia.
•Proven experience in marine fish hatchery, aquatic animal husbandry, or related fields with supervisory responsibilities.
•Strong knowledge of aquatic species nutritional needs and feeding techniques.
•Ability to monitor animal health and identify signs of distress or illness.
•Good organizational skills with attention to detail and record-keeping.

Salary:
AED 6,000 to 8,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
