Job description / Role
NMDC is looking for a Marine Insurance Claims Officer for their entire operations in the region. This position will manage the Marine Insurance Policies under NMDC and will serve as the focal point for any technical questions regarding vessel insurance and coverage, underwriting policies and claims management. Candidate should also have the capability to negotiate insurance terms with insurance companies to obtain the best insurance coverage at a reasonable price as well as introducing useful coverage, in some cases. He/ She should also review the insurance section of all contracts/subcontracts to ensure that NMDC’s interest in adequately protected. Also, be involved in major claims issues especially for P & I (Protection & Indemnity) cases and follow up settlement of claims.
Requirements
An ideal candidate should have technical knowledge with at least 5 years of working experience in Marine vessels & Machineries. This includes everything from tugboats to dredgers to powerboats and others, with strong experience in insurance underwriting practices and claims management. He/ She should preferably a Degree / Diploma holder in Insurance or Certified from Chartered Insurance Institute with Marine background / legal courses.

By way of a brief introduction to National Marine Dredging Company, in 1976 as a dredging division of ADNOC a board decision was taken to form an autonomous dredging company reporting to its own Board of Directors. NMDC was founded and commenced trading in its own right on 1st January 1980.
We are a National Company owned 40% by the Government of Abu Dhabi and 60% by UAE Nationals and registered as a public company trading on the Abu Dhabi stock exchange with a registered paid up capital asset value of Dhs 169,000,000-00.
