Marine Operator

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Operator to join our team in the ship agency industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the operational and administrative aspects of marine operations in the UAE.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, and berthing arrangements with port authorities and terminal operators.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international conventions, and company policies related to marine operations.
- Prepare D/As and related reports with full monitoring to management
- Handle all operational and administrative tasks related to vessel agency appointments, including vessel clearances, crew changes, and supply services.
- Manage communication and coordination with ship owners, charterers, and port service providers to ensure smooth and efficient marine operations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and records related to marine operations, including port clearance documents, cargo manifests, and vessel schedules.
- Monitor vessel movements, port activities, and weather conditions to make informed decisions and mitigate operational risks.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and service providers to resolve operational issues and ensure timely and cost-effective vessel turnaround.
- Provide timely and accurate reports on operational activities, performance metrics, and operational expenses to support decision-making and performance evaluation.

- Proven experience in marine operations, vessel agency, or port operations within the ship agency industry.
- In-depth knowledge of local regulations, international conventions, and industry best practices related to marine operations and port management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders, including ship owners, port authorities, and service providers.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and develop strategies to optimize marine operations and enhance efficiency.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for marine operations, documentation, and communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and respond to operational needs on short notice, including occasional travel to port facilities and client locations.
