Job description / Role
Our client, an international company in Dubai, is currently looking for a Market Analyst (Energy & Commodities).
Job purpose:
The Market Analyst will need to perform market research and analysis including data collection, data manipulation, data publication, quantitative analysis, and report writing. The candidate will also be expected to develop excel spreadsheets and power point documents based on our research and datasets, and ultimately take the lead on building relationships with the various stakeholders in the MENA energy industry.
Key accountabilities:
- Market Analyst (Energy & Commodities) is responsible for conducting primary and secondary research on crude oil & refined products market in a timely manner.
- Maintain daily interaction with a network of local and international energy market players in order to provide market insight to our customers.
- Complete research studies, prepare client deliverables, and execute workflow up to the required quality and within the designated timeframe.
Requirements
- Market Analyst must have at least 3-5 years of experience within oil physical markets
- Strong experience of the oil physical markets, at least 3 years either as a trader, an analyst, and will understand perfectly energy market fundamentals.
- Extensive network of physical trading contacts in Middle East.
- A Bachelors Degree holder in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Business or petroleum studies from a reputable university
- Must have strong understanding of financial markets (energy swap market especially) be, proficient in statistics, and an advanced user of Excel (VBA coding would be a plus).
