Employment: Full Time

A global, innovative multi-category business is seeking a Market Development Manager for their Iran operations. This person will have strong market knowledge, experience and networks to establish and lead the Iran consumer business for the brand. This role will start as a Project Manager, surveying the market, understanding the business landscape, and determining the scope of opportunities in Iran. This person will need to understand the competitive landscape, the importation laws and regulations, the legal framework for operating in Iran, and scout for potential distributors to partner with, and finally submit a market entry recommendation working with the MEA and APAC leadership teams to secure approval and support for entry into Iran.

Key Responsibilities:
* Build the "Market Entry" business case - Lead a project team to define a clear market entry plan, covering importation requirements, legal operating framework, potential Route to Market setup etc.
* Building the Business in Iran - Ensure the required setup is in place to support and deliver the Iran ambitions
* Strategic Thinking and Executional Delivery - Work in partnership with the MEA and the APAC leadership community to develop the business strategy for Iran
* Deliver business results (volume and revenue) and profit
* Manage business to maximise profitability and reduce variability - Validate and oversee a monthly customer volume forecast process that is 12 month rolling and delivered to the manufacturing base and the business in a timely fashion
* Establish strongest possible commercial relationships with key customers & local agency partners
* Marketing & PR
* Oversee Management of retail & other agency partnerships
* Competitor Management
* Legal compliance through managing the approvals process
* Fulfill other duties as required

Requirements

* 10+ years of work experience in Iran, as P&L owner for a company, or as a leader of a significant business segment within a company
* Past work experience should be mainly of working with established multinational companies covering the Iranian market
* Experience demonstrating a start-up mentality will be advantageous
* Commercial - sales/marketing experience, with a proven track record of results
* Proven P&L track record
* Evidence of budget control and high level of financial expertise.

* Methodical business planning capability
* Strong team player capable of building and motivating teams
* Entrepreneurial flair
* Results driven
* Language skills: Farsi & English
