Job description / Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Materials Engineer with a strong background in bridge construction to join our dynamic team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of material selection, quality assurance, testing, and compliance in line with project specifications and international standards. This position requires in-depth knowledge of construction materials used in bridge projects and experience working on large-scale infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and approve material submittals in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure material compliance and proper storage/handling practices.
• Perform material testing and evaluation (concrete, steel, asphalt, soil, etc.) in coordination with certified laboratories.
• Prepare and maintain Material Approval Logs, Test Reports, and Quality Documentation.
• Liaise with design engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the correct materials are used.
• Ensure compliance with UAE local regulations, international codes (BS, ASTM, AASHTO), and project-specific requirements.
• Monitor and analyze the performance of materials used in construction, suggesting alternatives where necessary.
• Provide technical input on material-related issues during design, construction, and maintenance phases.
• Assist in resolving non-conformance reports (NCRs) related to materials and suggest corrective actions.
• Support sustainability initiatives by recommending environmentally friendly material alternatives where applicable.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (minimum requirement).
• 5+ years of experience as a Materials Engineer in bridge or major infrastructure construction projects, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
• Solid understanding of material properties and testing methodologies relevant to bridge construction.
• Familiar with UAE municipality regulations, DOT standards, and international codes.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in material testing software/tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (minimum requirement).

Salary:
AED
10,000 to 14,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
