Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Client is an Architecture & Engineering Consultancy is seeking Material Engineer responsible for ensuring that all materials used in the project are compliant with the project specifications, LEED requirements, and approved by all relevant authorities as bound necessary.

• Review and Approval of the Contractor’s proposed materials and methods as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Preparation of Material Engineer’s Daily Diary.
• General oversight of the Contractor’s daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance and guidance on the supervision of the Contractor’s operations.
• Attend factory visits, suppliers plant inspection as required
• Follow up testing and approvals from the relevant authorities
• Review of Contractor’s testing requests and subsequent completed reports.
• Review and Approval of the Contractor’s Submissions as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Monitoring the performance of the material delivery and accuracy of materials used at site
• Coordination with Contractor’s supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence and method of work.
• Monitoring conformance with the Contractor’s schedule.
• Continuous Field Inspections of the work in the progress and consultation with both the Resident Engineer’s and Contractor’s supervisory staff.
• Preparation of written and oral reports to the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.
• Ensure compliance of used materials with the projects specifications.
• Participate in construction quality control.
• Supervise, participate and direct sampling and testing of all materials according to the contract and the specifications.
• Analyze the test results in a timely manner and recommend action to the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain records of test results and all taken corrective actions.
• Track and review the site testing and certificates of compliance.
• Follow up and verify implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure inspection and checking of all delivered materials to site for conformance to the project requirements and approval

Requirements

• Work experience of not less than 10 years in design, construction and supervision of commercial projects.
• Full knowledge of existing infrastructure networks in the Emirates of Dubai.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the conduct of quality inspections with hands on experience of ISO9000 quality systems.
• Strong Construction supervision experience.
• High level of critical thinking skills.
• High level of numerical skills.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Must have ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports.
