Materials Engineer

Project Overview:

The project is a high quality residential community with a land area of 10,835,456 square meters in Dubai. It involves landscape design adoption and construction supervision services to the public spaces and the rights of way within the residential villa areas.

Responsibilities:

• Have a full awareness of testing requirements.
• Check material submissions and adequately process approvals.
• Assist in the development of testing procedures.
• Keep up-to-date with new appropriate materials.
• Review and approve of all submitted materials by the contractor.
• Ensure compliance of used materials with the project’s specifications.
• Participate in construction quality control.
• Supervise, participate and direct sampling and testing of all materials according to the contract and the specs.
• Analyze the test results on time and recommend action to the RE.
• Maintain records of test results and all taken corrective actions.
• Track and review the site testing and certificates of compliance.
• Ensure very close and precise coordination of his team activities with the other construction supervision staff.
• Follow up and verify the implementation of corrective actions.
• Coordinate the review and approval of speciality and other high-profile materials.
• Ensure inspection and checking of all delivered materials to site for conformance to the project requirements and approvals, as directed by RE.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field and 15 years of relevant work experience with continued career development and certification.
• Experience in the construction of massive infrastructure and Landscape projects is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years UAE-Dubai experience is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Robust assessment and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and excellent organisation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction or oversight.
• Good knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
• Excellent written, presentation and oral communications skills.
