Employment: Full Time

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Materials Engineer to join their team Interiors team in Dubai to work on high profile new build projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Materials Engineer working on high profile projects in the UAE with preference given to those with prior experience working for recognised Main Contracting Companies

This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 Month Contract position employed as an outsource candidate through J10 Consulting.

There is an option at 6 months to transfer to staff if it suits all parties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review the material submittals and obtain the required approvals according to the applicable standards and project specifications.
• Serves as the focal point for the scheduling and control of construction materials and equipment at the job site
• Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
• Coordinates work of sub-contractors for material testing
• Maintains office files related to the project, material inspections and writes daily diaries.
• Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract
• Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work
• Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems on construction materials, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution
• Collects, reviews and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other information relevant to the materials used.
• May provide technical guidance to lower-level
• Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports
• Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
• Capability to perform math calculation in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs and charts
• Observe, check and record works execution is in accordance with approved methods
• Check material delivered are as approved and properly stored

Requirements:

Materials Engineer Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil, Structural or related
• Minimum of 6-8 years experience and experience in recognised Main Contractor companies on new build and interior fit out projects
• Experience in the construction of Malls, High rise and Hotel projects will be highly advantageous
• Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment
• Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages and simple charts and graphs
