Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic MEP engineering consultancy team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing mechanical systems for various projects, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and design mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for commercial and residential projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of mechanical designs within overall project frameworks.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant software and engineering principles.
- Review and verify designs for compliance with client requirements, codes, and standards.
- Assist in site inspections and support installation teams during project execution phases.
- Stay updated on latest technologies and practices in mechanical engineering to provide innovative solutions.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical design within MEP engineering consultancy, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
- Strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design tools.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, UAE civil defense regulations).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional certification or licensure is a plus.
