Mechanical Draughtsman

Job description / Role

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a number of well experienced Mechanical CAD Draughtsman to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile new build villa projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as an Mechanical CAD Draughtsman working on high profile projects in the UAE with preference given to those with prior experience in working for recognised Main Contracting Companies

This role is available for immediate joining and is a 6 Month Contract position employed as an outsource candidate through J10 Consulting.

There is an option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting shop drawings and coordination layouts for villa and mansions proejcts.
• Develop 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Translate design sketches and engineering notes into comprehensive and accurate drawings.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineer or consultant feedback and design changes.
• Coordinate mechanical drawings with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to identify and resolve clashes.
• Ensure all drawings comply with UAE authority requirements (e.g., DEWA, DM, DCD, ADDC, etc.) and international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA).
• Assist in preparing drawings for authority submissions and ensure timely revisions based on comments received.
• Maintain a well-organized drawing register and documentation system.
• Support project teams by preparing as-built drawings, redline markups, and site modification details.
• Work closely with site engineers and project managers to understand site conditions and incorporate them into updated drawings.

CAD Draughtsman - Mechanical Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years overall experience with minimum 2 in the UAE.
• Strong proficiency in Mechanical CAD Draughting & Detailing for villas and mansions
• Previous experience of working in a recognised Main Contracting Company previously
• Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience of working in Villa and residential projects
