Job description / Role
This opportunity is with a Multinational company, a global leader specializing in advanced industrial products and services for the energy and mobility sectors into manufacturing of products in stainless steel and high-nickel alloy.
In this position you would be responsible for the following:
• Conduct a variety of mechanical tests on materials and components according to established procedures and standards.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as tensile testers, hardness testers, impact testers, and dimensional measurement tools.
• Perform tests to evaluate mechanical properties including tensile strength, hardness, impact resistance, fatigue, and dimensional accuracy.
• Record, compile, and analyze test data accurately, preparing detailed reports summarizing findings and conclusions.
• Collaborate with engineers and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot testing issues, interpret results, and provide technical recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements during testing activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory environment, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and laboratory staff as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to testing methods, equipment calibration, and laboratory procedures.
Requirements:
To be successful you would ideally possess :
• Mechanical Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 4 years specifically as a mechanical laboratory technician.
• Proven experience conducting mechanical tests in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Knowledgeable in Waste Water Treatment Procedures.
• Preferably experienced in an ISO 17025 accredited mechanical testing laboratory.
• Strong understanding of mechanical testing techniques and equipment operation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test standards effectively.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently.
