Medical Coding Specialist

Job description / Role

Our client is a medical institute based in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK). To be considered for this position you must be willing to relocate to RAK or already be based there.

Medical Coding Specialists are responsible for correctly coding healthcare claims in order to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies and government healthcare programme.

Duties:
• Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD and CPT codes.
• Enter coding information in an online program.
• Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations.
• Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear.
• Communicate with other clinical staff regarding documentation.
• Search for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual.
• Maintain continuing education requirements.
• Working Days would be Sunday - Thursday with standard working hours.

Salary:
AED 9,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• You will already be working as a medical coder for a reputable insurance company in the UAE with a minimum of 5 years experience in the same role.
• As a medical coder you must have knowledge of working with a reputable insurance company and hold a certificate or associates degree in medical coding.
