Our client is looking for a visionary and compassionate medical director to lead their new outpatient center dedicated to children with neurological developmental disorders (NDD). This role is based in Dubai, UAE.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in paediatric neurology or rehabilitation medicine, who can thrive in a transforming institution with a start-up mindset. The medical director will play a crucial part in positioning our center as a leader in paediatric NDD care in the region.

As a key leader, you will be responsible for setting clinical standards, driving medical excellence, and ensuring the highest quality of care for our paediatric patients. Your role will involve overseeing all medical aspects of the center, with a focus on innovative therapies, patient outcomes, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

Clinical leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the medical team, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and best practices to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
  • Stay updated on global advancements in paediatric care, ensuring that the team remains at the forefront of medical innovation.
  • Patient care & therapy:

  • Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Allocate 30-40% of your time to providing hands-on clinical care, including patient consultations and evaluations.
  • Partner with families to educate them on treatment options and provide compassionate support throughout the care journey.
  • Quality & safety:

  • Implement a comprehensive program to monitor and improve clinical performance, focusing on metrics, variance, and trend analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international healthcare standards, including achieving and maintaining accreditations.
  • Foster a culture of patient safety, confidentiality, and high-quality care.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient and staff information.
  • Research & innovation:

  • Lead the center's clinical research initiatives, encouraging participation in research projects, clinical trials, and academic collaborations.
  • Develop research programs that contribute to the center's reputation as a regional leader in paediatric NDD care.
  • Publish research findings and represent the center in industry talks and conferences.
  • Team development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor medical professionals, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals, identifying and addressing areas for improvement to maintain clinical excellence.
  • Manage clinical staff turnover, ensuring the center remains an employer of choice in the healthcare industry.
  • Strategic planning & operations:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop strategic plans that align with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Work closely with the operations director to manage budgets related to medical services, research, and capital projects.
  • Contribute to business planning for new service lines, ensuring clinical and commercial targets are consistently met.
  • Community engagement:

  • Build relationships with regulatory agencies, professional associations, and community organizations.
  • Organize medical outreach programs, CME events, and marketing campaigns to enhance the center's visibility and reputation.
  • Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years in senior medical management, preferably in paediatric neurology or rehabilitation, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in paediatric neurology or related fields.
  • Valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license and home country certification.
  • Proven track record in clinical research and publications related to paediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Strong international and multicultural exposure.
  • Ability to interpret medical center financials, including P&L statements.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Fluent in English (Arabic proficiency is an advantage).
  • Passionate about patient care, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with emerging digital technologies in the paediatric health industry, along with the ability to effectively use modern computing and digital tools.
  • Mobility to coordinate with various departments and conduct patient consultations.
  • Capable of handling physical tasks related to patient care when necessary.
