Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The MEP Engineer will assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project in regard to irrigation activities. He will participate in review and approval of all submittals by the contractors and involves in the quality control and quality assurance. He will lead the site inspectors in his discipline to ensure that all construction activities have been performed as per the contract and specifications.

Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the Engineer site representative.
- Ability to realize project requirements and deliver in accordance with company/client requirements and guidelines.
- Ability to project plan and manage multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to oversee and manage all aspects of site construction activities including contractual related documentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Identify and prepare appropriate project solutions and options.
- Provide support to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Perform duties in accordance with company’s highest quality expectations, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform any other essential duties that immediate superior may assign from time to time.
- Inspect site conditions to ensure suitability for the designed permanent works.
- Give practical advice on constructional matters.
- Inspect construction, including temporary, works to ensure compliance with approved methods and contract requirements.
- Maintain records of inspections, work executed, etc.
- Direct Inspectors and ensure performance.
- Assist in or measure work done when required.
- Observe site safety procedures.
- Assist in preparation of “as-built” drawings.
- Assist with inspection of completed works, prepare sang lists and handover to operating authority.

Requirements

- Relevant degree from a recognized university and must have thoughtful knowledge and work experience of not less than 7 years in Execution of MEP works and infrastructure works.
- Must be able to take on the spot decisions and be able to deal with all Service Authorities.
- Must have full knowledge of the MEP works related to irrigation, pump stations, MEP building works and infrastructure in the Emirates of Dubai.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in conducting quality inspections with hands on experience of IS09000 quality systems.
- Familiar with the DM General Conditions of Contract, Quality Assurance, Quantity Surveying and Project Network Techniques (Primavera P3).
- Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates.
- Capacity to make decision.
- Able to represent the company in meetings with client representatives and in accordance with company values.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm to contribute/participate in business development and growth.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and Primavera P3.
- Excellent written and communication skills (English), time management, and supervisory skills.
