MEP Modular Design Engineer

Job description / Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Modular MEP Design: Develop modular designs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ensure modular systems are optimized for ease of transport, assembly, and maintenance.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to integrate MEP systems into the overall design. Coordinate with project managers to understand design requirements, timelines, and budgets.
• Fabrication and Prefabrication: Develop designs for prefabricated MEP components, such as HVAC units, plumbing risers, and electrical panels. Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the correct materials are used and meet quality standards.
• Documentation: Prepare detailed design drawings, schematics, and specifications for modular MEP systems. Maintain accurate records and documentation of design changes, approvals, and revisions.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to MEP systems.
• Experience with modular construction and prefabrication techniques.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in MEP design, with a focus on modular construction.
• Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP) may be preferred.
