MEP Supervision Engineer

Job description / Role

Our Multi National Design & Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant MEP Supervision Engineer to join their team in Ras AL Khaimah to work on new build projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant MEP Supervision Engineer working in a similar capacity on projects in the UAE performing design review, inspections, site coordination & supervision. Only candidates with a track record of working for recognised supervision consultants or PMC Companies will be considered.

This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 month contract position hire as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

- As part of a multi-discipline project team representing the client, conduct site inspections, review and approve shop drawings and material submittal and verify the tested results are correct
- Independently review material submittals / shop drawings against project specifications and provide comments and status
- Independently conduct site inspections in selected discipline and prepare site observation reports and issue Non Conformity Reports as needed
- Review design information, tolerances and agreed methods of working
- Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
- Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
- Report issues found to senior team members in a clear, accurate and concise manner
- Liaise with contractors installation and commissioning team in a professional manner
- Participate in meetings and workshops regarding discipline when required
- Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guidelines
- Track completion of tasks, prepare lookaheads and trackers for project milestones
- Keep daily diary of events and activities under your control, including systems inspected, documents reviewed, and any decision made by authorities on site.

MEP Supervision Engineer Experience:

- BSc Minimum in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- 7 years minimum of experience with at least 2 in a recognised PMC or supervision consultancy company
- Previous experience working on major projects is required
- Strong design review, site coordination, inspection and supervision engineer experience
- In-depth knowledge of local design standards and working experience with local authorities technical and legal requirements
- Strong communication, stakeholder and client management skills in a client facing role
