MEP Technician

Job description / Role

• Electrical
• Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit
• Drill holes for wiring and pull or push wiring through opening
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors
• Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order
• Clean work area, tools, and equipment
• Perform other routine duties as required

A/C & Chillers
• Transport tools, materials, components, and refuse to and from work area
• Lift or hold parts while refrigeration mechanic fits, aligns, and fastens them into position
• Bolt or unbolt parts
• Cut and thread pipe to specified length and packs pipes
• Pass electrical wire through conduit, splices wire connections, and tape wire
• Assemble sheet metal components of prefabricated furnaces
• Lubricate fans, motors, and control units
• Clean work area, tools, and equipment
• Perform other routine duties as required

Plumbing
• Perform routine daily weekly monthly and yearly plumbing systems maintenance tasks in line with the key account asset register and planner.
• Respond in a professional and workman like manner to all plumbing and associated system reactive work projects i.e. fault finding and rectification projects.
• Implement as requested modifications to the plumbing systems to meet the specific requirements of the client’s business partners.
• Report to the team supervisor on a regular basis regarding workload, quality workmanship and key issues.
• Develop an extensive understanding of the methods of work associated with the plumbing plant and give advice on enhancing the performance of the equipments.
• Ensure all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of services, and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
• Carry out inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance activities according to the defined schedules and methods to guarantee the provision of a timely service to customers.
• React to any complaints or emergencies promptly and as directed by the Group Leader / Supervisor so as to provide the necessary corrective maintenance measures and resolve customers’ problems.
• Monitor the running conditions of various assets within the scope of work, check their operational efficiency, ensure that their functionality complies with standards, and take the necessary preventive measures if any problems are detected.

• Diploma or a 2 year Industrial Training Course in the relevant field
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in maintenance work in the relevant field
• Proficiency in English language; coordination skills, numerical skills, understanding and following SOPs/ work instructions, communication skills, knowledge in health & safety standards; job specific skills in the relevant field
