Merchandising Manager

Job description / Role

Be the Agthia in-store execution expert, developing and delivering the merchandising direction across categories and trade channels in UAE with a primary focus in Modern Trade.

Lead the Merchandising Supervisors (and extensively the whole merchandising team) in terms of:
- Excellence in Execution with a focus on shop ability
- Points of Engagement
- Share of Space and Distribution
- Tailored activation upon market insights
- Effective & efficient route planning
- Route riding and on-the-job coaching
- Team’s engagement

- Coordinate with merchandising supervisors to maximize the effectiveness of the routes planning, ensuring maximum time is spent productively on execution
- Advise and track the required forward stock per category and point of engagement
- Conduct regular market visits to ensure compliance of routes and execution standards
- Forecast and submit CAPEX & POSM requirements (types and quantities)
- Ensure implementation of merchandising and placement guidelines
- Continuously seek to increase visible forward stock / share of shelf and points of engagement, over & beyond the HO level agreements
- Lead the merchandising guidelines development for all categories, in cooperation with the brand and trade marketing team, keeping the customer and shopper in the front.
- Ensure all reports are submitted on time, at full and with qualitative notes / highlight. Consolidate regional reports at a country level and share with relevant stakeholders.
- Motivate, engage and develop the team. Identify and lead the delivery of necessary training modules.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in a business related discipline.
- 6 years of overall experience with at least three including people management responsibility on FMCG or Retail industry
- Background in leading and managing RTM & sales operations (ideally in modern trade)

Functional Knowledge:
- Understanding of the products and services of the company
- Experience in Matrix organizations
- Good understanding of financial measures related to sales (ROI)
- Good presentation & selling Skills
- Understanding of FMCG or Retail/Fashion merchandising guidelines
- Excellent Communicator
