About the Role
As metadata management lead you will play a crucial role in establishing robust metadata management framework, building standardized templates, processes and implementing metadata/catalog solution to enable effective data governance, data integration, and data discovery across the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Metadata Strategy and Planning: Developing metadata management strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their requirements and define metadata standards, policies, and best practices.

Metadata Delivery:
a. Documenting conceptual and logical data models
b. Data Standards/Rules - which describe standards for collecting, recording and representing data within databases
c. Work with business and technology stakeholders to identify Critical Data Elements.
d. Maintain Business Glossary content for Transaction Data Domains in the Data Catalog with input from data stakeholders.
- Metadata Catalog: Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of a metadata repository. This involves selecting appropriate tools or platforms, defining metadata schemas, and ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security within the repository.
- Metadata Governance: Establishing and enforcing data governance frameworks and practices for metadata management. Defining metadata policies, access controls, data classification, and retention policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Processes: Developing and implementing processes and workflows for metadata capture, extraction, transformation, and loading. Ensuring the availability and accuracy of metadata across various systems, databases, and applications.
- Data lineage and impact analysis: Oversees the establishment of data lineage and impact analysis capabilities. They ensure that metadata captures information about the origins, transformations, and destinations of data, enabling traceability and impact analysis for data-related changes.
- Integration and Interoperability: Leading efforts to integrate metadata management solutions with existing systems, databases, and applications. Ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow between different metadata repositories or catalogs.
- Training and Education: A huge part of the role involves socializing and evangelizing the new approach, standards, processes to gain acceptance of the metadata management across the organization across different lines of business. This will involve but not limited to conducting training sessions and workshops to educate stakeholders and users on metadata management concepts, best practices, and tools.

Requirements

Expected Qualifications:
Masters or Bachelor's Degree in IT with experience of s/w development, data design, engineering and of delivering wider data initiatives such as enterprise data governance, data warehousing, enterprise data models and data quality etc.

Expected Experience:
Minimum 10+ years industry experience as a data quality or metadata architect, designer or analyst with mixed expertise that span project delivery and operational maintenance roles in data rich environments.

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
Minimum 3+ years hands-on delivery experience of at least 2 full life cycle metadata management, data governance or data quality initiatives in large/complex organizations.
Hands on experience of building metadata management function as part of wider CDAO office to deliver upon data strategy.
