Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose: To perform microbiological testing of all the key aspects of the process chain such as raw materials, treated water, syrup preparations, beverage preparations, equipment, swab test, environment etc., to ensure that finished product going out of the plant is free from organic adulteration and safe to consume.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Conducts microbiological tests on water, sugar, syrups, rinse waters, environment, packaging materials, and trade or warehouse samples to ensure compliance with KORE.
- Conducts Swab tests on the filling equipment and other critical equipment surfaces to ensure a microbe – free environment during product filling.
- Identifies critical control points for reducing or eliminating the microbiological risk to product quality.
- Conduct hand swab for the people working in processing areas and feedback for personnel hygiene monitoring
- Informs Production and relevant operations personnel about corrective quality measures to produce good quality products.
- Conducts detailed analysis of product complaints pertaining to microbiological flaws.
- Full responsibility and accountability for the implementation of food safety activities and procedures in plant operations
- Conducting GMP and Food safety audits as per frequency or whenever required
- Maintain the laboratory facilities and equipment in sanitary condition to obtain accurate and precise results.
- Ensure that lab equipment are calibrated, does prompt inventory of culture media and reagents observing FEFO system and ensures that records are maintained in an organized manner for quick and easy access.
- Encodes quality microbiological data for Coke One Lite Quality Module or soft copy
- Enter all relevant test results in Coke One lite Quality Module.
- Collection of all required data for CIP effectiveness monitoring
- Maintain good housekeeping, GMP and all food safety and KORE norms on the lines
- Additional Quality responsibility for lines and process whenever required.
- Additional Quality responsibility for incoming RMPM whenever required especially RMPM chemist on vacation or leave

Requirements

- Graduate or post graduate in Microbiology.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in the beverages, water, dairy, fruit juice or pharmaceutical plants
- Preferably female candidate with good communication skills
- Preferably 1 – 2 years’ experience in any Coca-Cola plant as microbiologist
- General Laboratory maintenance & Quality Supervision practice

Technical Knowledge:
- Food microbiology and Food safety norms
- Internal or Lead Auditor for HACCP / ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000
- Knowledge and awareness in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Computer literate with high proficiency in MS office
