Overview of the role:
The Microsoft Power Apps Specialist drives Al-Futtaim Technologies' strategic shift towards a low-code, digital-first approach to business innovation. This role supports the Head of Business Transformation by utilising the Microsoft Power Platform to streamline internal processes, enhance operational efficiency, and foster new intellectual property (IP) product development. The Microsoft Power Apps Specialist will support internal transformations and external client engagements by creating custom applications and automation solutions and work on transformational R&D to innovate new IPs like industry-specific apps and integrated workflow tools.
The Microsoft Power Apps Specialist at Al-Futtaim Technologies is instrumental in advancing the company's business transformation strategy by developing and implementing custom Power Apps solutions. This role is central to enhancing internal operational excellence and fostering positive financial impact by creating IP-owned products and integrating them into AFT's offerings. Based in Dubai, the Specialist will work closely with AFT's Microsoft sales teams, offering essential technical support, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and implementing solutions that leverage the Power Apps ecosystem.
As a key member of the business transformation team, the Specialist will support the Head of Business Transformation in automating repetitive tasks and improving internal processes. This includes developing tools for real-time performance metrics and creating interactive dashboards and reports that consolidate data from multiple sources. The role involves using Power Apps to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and provide deeper insights into internal operations.
In addition to focusing on operational improvements, the role emphasises R&D activities to develop proprietary IP products. This involves designing and developing custom and white-labelled Power Apps solutions, creating industry-specific applications, and building reusable components. The Specialist's work will be pivotal in integrating these solutions into AFT's existing frameworks, supporting strategic business goals, and strengthening the company's position within the Microsoft ecosystem.
What you will do:
Enhancing AFT's Microsoft Portfolio:
- Development of Custom and IP-owned Proprietary Power Apps Solutions: Lead the R&D initiatives to design and develop custom Power Apps solutions that integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Dynamics and other Microsoft platforms. Collaborate with the Business Transformation and Product Development teams to create industry-specific applications and reusable components (e.g., CRM automation templates). Develop white-labelled apps that clients can brand, extending market reach and positioning AFT as a leader in customizable solutions.
- Integration and Optimization: Design and implement custom apps that integrate Power Apps with Microsoft Teams, Office 365, etc., such as task management and approval workflows. This integration enhances operational efficiency and collaboration across platforms.
- Technical Support and Stakeholder Engagement: Provide comprehensive technical support and conduct product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of custom Power Apps solutions. Offer detailed walkthroughs of how these applications integrate with Microsoft Dynamics and other relevant platforms.
Streamlining Internal Processes:
- Internal Efficiency Improvements: Develop internal applications to automate repetitive tasks and enhance reporting, such as a tool for real-time performance metrics.
- Enhanced Reporting: Integrate Power Apps with MS Power BI, Teams, Projects, and Monday.com to create interactive dashboards and reports, providing deeper insights into internal operations.
- Lead workshops to gather feedback from internal stakeholders and identify areas for process improvements across multiple departments.
Supporting Microsoft Sales Teams:
- Sales Demos: Develop tailored demo applications to showcase Power Apps' capabilities combined with Dynamics
- Customizing Proposals: Enhance sales proposals by integrating customized Power Apps solutions that address specific client challenges, offering tailored solutions as part of the Dynamics package.
Collaboration and Strategic Support:
- Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams to automate business processes, enhancing efficiency and driving overall growth.
- Strategic Decision Support: Collaborate with theHead of Business Transformation to support GM in providing data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making based on the implementation and performance of Power Apps solutions.
Technical Expertise & Continuous Learning:
- Industry Trends: Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in Power Apps and related Microsoft products.
- Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with the Head of Business Transformation to contribute to AFT's knowledge base by sharing insights and best practices and mentoring colleagues.
- Skill Development: Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge of Power Apps and related technologies.

Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
Certifications:
- Essential: Power Platform App Maker Associate
- Desired: Power Apps + Dynamics 365 Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate or similar
Minimum Requirements / Experience:
- Professional Experience: Possess at least five years of experience working with Microsoft Power Platform.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Related Microsoft Technologies Knowledge: Have a solid understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure, and other related Microsoft technologies.
- Customer Engagement: Experience engaging with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that drive value.
- Development Tools: Familiarity with development tools and methodologies related to low-code/no-code platforms, including M-Files, Monday.com, etc.
- Solution Design: Experience designing scalable and secure solutions that integrate with various enterprise systems and applications.
- Communication and Collaboration: Display excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Project Management: Capable of working independently and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English.
