Microsoft Power BI Developer

Job description / Role

Job Objective:
To develop and deploy Dashboards and Reports in Microsoft Power BI as per the user requirements. The BI Developer will be responsible for design, develop, publish and maintain dashboards based on various BI reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Possess ability to capture and document end-user requirements on BI reporting and dashboards.
2. Coordinate the preparation and release of reporting requirements.
3. Responsible to provide technical report writing, data quality and technical data analysis resource for the Business Intelligence projects.
4. Responsible for optimizing BI dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization.
5. Responsible for building data visualizations with a strong understanding of the appropriate chart types to use to highlight patterns in the data.
6. Ability to drive insight by designing visualizations with logical and meaningful data flow.
7. Conceptualize design and produce documentation illustrating proposed enhancements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
• Overall 5- 6 years’ experience in Software Development.
• 2- 3 years’ experience only in Power BI Development.
• Experience in designing and developing data integration (ETL) solutions, including data quality - primarily using Microsoft technologies.
• Experience with relational and/or dimensional conceptual and logical data modeling.
• Experience in designing and developing reporting and analytics solutions.
• Having a good knowledge on integrating BI reporting tools with other system.
• Experience with designing and developing advanced analytics solutions.
• Experience with Data Integration using SSIS, Reporting/Analytics using Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, Excel etc.
• Strong verbal and written communications.
• Experience in dealing with all levels of business and technical personnel.

Skills Required:
1. Strong knowledge in using MS Power BI tool.
2. T-SQL database development and optimization skills.
3. Proficient in the use of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SSRS, building cubes using SSAS.
4. Strong verbal and written communication.
