Middle East Senior Accountant

Job description / Role

AUDIT & ACCOUNTING
• Support external auditors in their review.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and bank (15+ accounts) reconciliations.
• Record all financial transactions in Agresso (our accounting software), including:

* Suppliers (record invoices and payments)
* Staff’s Expense Notes (record expense notes and payments)
* Clients (record invoices and collections)
* Fixed Assets (new assets and depreciation)
* Payroll entries
* Petty cash transactions
* General accruals (calculation and recording) and prepayments amortizations
* Journal entries

INTERCOMPANY
• Issue, receive and record all intercompany invoices.
• Review and enquire about intercompany charges.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLES & STAFF EXPENSE NOTES
• Lead the suppliers’ invoice online approval process, by uploading and recording the invoices into the software, supporting and pushing approvers to sign the invoices without delays.
• Be the point of contact for all suppliers regarding finance matters. Proactively follow up with them to receive their invoices and clarify questions in time.
• Prepare specific analysis to understand and control expenses by supplier.
• Check Expense Notes from staff against receipts and keep their personal accounts updated all the time.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
• Support on client’s invoices issuance.
• Prepare and maintain the “Receivables aging report” in Excel.

TAX
• Prepare and submit VAT quarterly returns in KSA and UAE.
• Assist in preparing Income Tax returns in Qatar, KSA and Oman.
• Prepare and submit Withholding returns in KSA and QATAR.

PAYROLL
• Collect data from several internal sources to build the monthly payroll report.
• Coordinate with Human Resources Department in maintaining payroll records.
• Issue payroll payments and payslips following each country’s regulations.

TREASURY
• Deal with the banks on day to day transactions.
• Upload payments to the bank’s website.
• Participate in updating cash flow forecasts.

BUDGET & FORECAST
• Participate in preparation of budget (once a year) and forecasts (every month).
• Prepare monthly variance analysis and suggest corrective actions.

It is key that the Senior Accountant makes business sense of all the transactions/reports and review their correctness before reporting them to the Finance Manager.

Salary:
AED 7,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this role, you should have:

EXPERIENCE:
• Degree in Accounting.
• Accounting Certification would be highly valued.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in GCC countries with broad exposure to the activities in the Finance Department is a must.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Deep knowledge of IFRS.
• High Microsoft Excel level – This is a must and will be tested in the interview.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is a must.

• Accuracy and attention to the detail are a must.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt.
• Multitasking with appropriate prioritization.
• Proactive communication.
• Self-review.
